Empty, Clean and Dry

Thank you to our rePurpose members who are keeping a lot of hard-to-recycle items out of the landfill.

Please remember to rinse your recycling items a few times and allow them to dry thoroughly - especially things that are going to Seattle such as Tetra packs (alternative milk and soup containers).

Most of our recycling is being transported in our volunteers’ personal cars and they are getting stinky from items not being emptied and rinsed. 

GIVE IT A TRIPLE RINSE - watch this short video for reference. Please let the container dry before condensing it and putting it in your blue bag. Also, you can save water by turning off the faucet between rinse cycles.

When recycling items are not clean and dry they can contaminate the entire recycling bin and everything gets thrown out in the landfill - which is not what we want for all of our collective efforts!

Remember: EMPTY, CLEAN AND DRY.
